Just my luck: i got to catch a glimpse of a Homo Ludens (aka The Playing Man) at Stedelijk Museum this weekend. A fleeting Tino Sehgal performance inspired by Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man.

Tino Sehgal: With Instead of allowing some thing to rise up to your face dancing bruce and dan and other things “I have tried to choose works which avoid the pitfalls of the critical without being reactionary, in other words which are life affirming and which were innovative in their time. In my view they achieve this by creating another situation for – or positioning of – the viewer. In different ways they all have the ambition to be socially inclusive, i.e. to position the visitor not as inferior but rather as slightly superior and thus responsible with an agency.”

Song for today: Robson & Redloz – Playground
