It is hard to describe the wonderful and weird BARONESS ELSA VON FREYTAG-LORINGHOVEN (1874–1927): A Dada poet, a vagabond, an anarchist, a shoplifter, a radical performer, a living Dada artwork, she dressed up in found objects (tin-can bras, shower curtain rings, live canaries around her neck). Marcel Duchamp said: She is not a futurist, she is the future.

No spinsterlollypop for me!
Yes! We have no bananas
I got lusting palate
I always eat them…
There’s the vibrator
Coy flappertoy! …
A dozen cocktails, please!

Sadly she spent the last part of her life alone and broke, partly because she was incapable of compromises. In her own words: I cannot bow – I can only fling myself.
